It is aimed for the formation we define as the Industrial Design Virtual Museum (ETSM) collection to contain every product, project, document, information and visual on industrial design in Turkey. Because there are no complete archieves or product collections that can be seen as industrial design in this geography that we live in, our starting point is a “collecting ang gathering” activity on a line from the past to today.
In this concept, the first data of the collection are formed by products that were in design exhibitions organized or attended by Industrial Designers Society of Turkey (ETMK). Obviously, it is too early for the current “virtual museum” to try to reach the originals of these products with almost twenty years of history and to gather them for an actual collection. In its core, ETSM is a documenting and an archieving work. During the processes of establishing, documenting and recording the spread out objects on the subject; gathering and presenting other information and documents on these, scientific methods that were used during the founding of the museum are used.
